A native New Yorker, Jenny Leona spent most of her childhood in Ossining, NY.  Although she had a couple small acting jobs as a toddler, Jenny’s first real acting experience was at eight years old in the short film Jake; a semi-autobiographical piece about her family's experience raising a non-verbal child with autism.

It was during that shoot that Jenny realized she wanted to be a professional actress.  Two years later, after moving to California, she began her formal training at the Los Angeles Performing Arts Conservatory, and was later accepted into the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts.  At seventeen, Jenny was cast in the starring role of her first feature film, Cleaver’s Destiny.  Six months after wrapping Cleaver's Destiny, Jenny was accepted into the Drama Program at The Juilliard School.

Since graduating, Jenny has been working consistently in theatre, film and television.  Between jobs, Jenny enjoys catching up on her other interests.  In addition to acting, Jenny is also a trained gymnast and vocalist with a passion for archery and stage combat.

ABOUT
Me

What do'ya wanna know?

If you're in a rush, here's the quick and easy blurb:

Jenny is a bi-coastal Juilliard grad with a decade of experience in the business. Her collaborative nature, ability to take direction, and most importantly, her skill as an actor makes her a great addition to any ensemble.

No shame in being busy.  If you're hungry for more, there's plenty below.

My relationship to acting:

Being an actor is as much a part of my identity as my gender or sexuality.  Separate from my love of performing for others, acting has always been something I've done instinctually and for myself.  Once I discovered that my ritual of improving full productions alone in my room was a profession, there was no other option for me.  I was meant to be an actor.

Hometown(s):

I was born in Brooklyn, but spent the majority of my childhood in Ossining, NY just north of NYC.  Originally called Sing Sing, the small river town changed their name to Ossining in order to distance themself from the famous prison which is still up and running just down the hill from where I used to live.  Fun fact, the characters Don and Betty Draper from Mad Men lived in Ossining.

When my parents split up, literally, I spent a year in the suburbs outside New Orleans with my mom before insisting that I live with my father who had moved to Los Angeles.  He was working out there as a DP and cinematographer and I already had ambitions to be a professional actor.  I felt weird and out of place in the South, and I wanted out in the worst way.

I spent the next eight years in Los Angeles.  My pubescent years. AKA Biology's hellhole.  Turns out, my particular development was not conducive to working professionally since the maturity of my outsides rapidly outgrew the relative innocence of my insides.  I was a self reliant, unsheltered ten-year-old, but I was not ready for the sexuality that was quickly thrust upon me.  No pun intended.

By the time I was ten, I was receiving formal theatre and vocal training from the Los Angeles Performing Arts Conservatory.  This led to my acceptance into the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, which ultimately helped me to secure a spot as one of eight undergraduate students accepted into Group 42 of The Juilliard School Drama Department.  Meaning, that by the time I graduated college with a BFA, I may as well have earned my doctorate for the number of years I spent training.

Finally out in the world, I was a baby faced blonde with the speaking voice of a 1940's movie star.  Perfect for the classical theatre cannon but confusing on modern television.  So I followed the work
